**Special Circus Announcement**

Dear Synapse Circus Community,

As we move into our fifth year in Auburn, we are excited to announce a new change and addition to our community. We have made the decision to join the School of Acrobatics and New Circus Arts (SANCA), one of the largest circus schools in the nation, and become their second location. We are excited for the opportunity this brings to our community through more performance opportunities and access to more resources. This will allow us to expand the options for our program and what we are able to offer to our students and coaches.

SANCA has been a foundational member of the Seattle circus arts community since 2004. They have over 600 students and have taught classes at locations across King and Pierce County from their Seattle location. Expanding to Synapse Circus offers SANCA the opportunity to have a second permanent location for the first time in their history.

Joe Hampson, Executive Director at SANCA explains, “We’re excited to build on the great work that Crystal Campbell and the Synapse team have put into place in Auburn, expanding the reach of our mission to improve the mental, emotional, and physical health of children of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities by engaging them in the joyous creativity of acrobatics and circus arts.”

We look forward to the opportunities for Synapse Circus community to become familiar with SANCA’s annual events and performances, like SASS, Up With a Twist, and the spring staff show.

This change will take place at the turn of the new year. We are excited that our coaches are supportive of this change and will all be staying in their current positions teaching classes at the Auburn Synapse location. For parents and students, the class portal will remain in place and no changes will be made to that in the foreseeable future.  Enrollment for the January 2023 session is now open and we look forward to offering the same classes you’ve enjoyed in the new year!

Coach Crystal, one of our owners, has significant experience with SANCA and personal connections to their program, having worked there for over a decade in a variety of positions of leadership. If anyone has any concerns or questions regarding this change, please feel free to reach out to Crystal at info@synapsecircus.com and discuss it. We will begin introducing leaders and others from SANCA as we make this transition and encourage you to get to know them. We feel that we have built a great community here in South King County and look forward to sharing what we have built with SANCA and learning from them as well.

Thank you,

Crystal Campbell and Jon Mathews
